Celtics Take 2-0 Lead Against Mavericks

Boston Defeats Dallas 106-88

The Celtics moved another win closer to another NBA championship which would give the franchise its 18th title in franchise history. The Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 at TD Garden Arena on Friday night. Despite struggling from 3-point range, the Celtics fend off the Mavericks to take a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

The Celtics went 2-0 against the Mavericks during the regular season. Jayson Tatum scored 39 points with 11 rebounds in Boston's 119-110 victory.

The Mavericks scored three straight dunks and layups with Horford waiting to rejoin the Celtics lineup after which Mazzulla called timeout to stop the bleeding.

The Celtics are back on top after a disappointing finish to last season's NBA Finals. Boston lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games last year.

Game 3 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for Sunday night in Dallas.
